How it works

This converter uses live exchange rate data fetched in real time from a public API. No rates are hardcoded — every conversion pulls the latest available data.

  • Live API: Exchange rates are fetched from an open exchange rate API each time you click Convert.
  • 33 currencies: Supports INR, USD, EUR, GBP, AED, AUD, CAD, SGD, JPY, CNY, CHF, NZD, HKD, KRW, THB, MYR, SEK, NOK, DKK, ZAR, BRL, MXN, TRY, RUB, SAR, QAR, KWD, BHD, OMR, PHP, IDR, VND, and TWD.
  • Calculation: The converted amount is computed as: Amount × Exchange Rate.
  • Last updated: The API returns a timestamp showing when the rates were last refreshed by the data provider.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do the exchange rates come from?
Exchange rates are fetched live from a public exchange rate API every time you convert. We do not hardcode or cache rates. The rates reflect the latest data available from the API provider.
How accurate are the conversion rates?
The rates are mid-market rates provided by the exchange rate API and are generally accurate for informational purposes. Actual bank or money exchange rates may differ slightly due to fees and spreads.
Can I use this offline?
No. Since exchange rates are fetched live from an external API, an active internet connection is required. If the API is unreachable, an error message with a retry button will appear.
How many currencies are supported?
The converter supports 33 currencies including INR, USD, EUR, GBP, AED, AUD, CAD, SGD, JPY, CNY, CHF, NZD, HKD, KRW, THB, MYR, SEK, NOK, DKK, ZAR, BRL, MXN, TRY, RUB, SAR, QAR, KWD, BHD, OMR, PHP, IDR, VND, and TWD.
Is my data sent to any server?
Only the currency code you are converting from is sent to the exchange rate API to fetch rates. The amount you enter stays in your browser and is never transmitted anywhere.
What if the API fails to respond?
If the API is unreachable or returns an error, you will see a clear error message with a Retry button. Common causes include network issues or temporary API downtime. Simply try again after a moment.
